Michael's Challenge and Blog Hop Reveal Day

I jumped at the chance to co-host this new blog challenge and blog hop with Heather Powers when she asked me last month. She had been inspired by a print of paisley and picked out pretty coordinating beads at her local Michaels. We've opened up the challenge to whoever wanted to play along and today we are all revealing our finished pieces in a blog hop!

Here are the beads we've all used:

Reconstituted Turquoise White Rondel 93741
Aqua 9.5 x 10mm Table Cut Glass 55809
Purple Glass Round 6mm 80842
Aqua Opaque Table Cut Glass 99069
Bone Amber Rectangle 12 x 20mm 93294
Round Cut Horn Beads 91920
Green Ceramic 12mm Round 92927

When I was on the airplane going to California last week I noticed a beautiful girl in the row ahead of me. She was wearing a large stack of beaded stretch bracelets and the look was really great. I think she had to have at least 10-12 bracelets on but they really packed a punch worn all together. That was my inspiration for this challenge. Stacks.

The small bone rondelles are bunched together on 4 strands with some ribbed bone rounds that I got in California. I used some Magenta 4 ply waxed linen cording to tie it all together. I created a riveted leather button loop and put on this pretty filigree vintage button as the clasp. I used one of the bone amber rectangles as the focal piece since I had one left over from another bracelet.

I knotted the 6mm glass rounds on teal 4 ply waxed linen cording, and added in some of the teal and bronze table cut glass beads for this double wrapped bracelet with some brass findings.

Here I strung the opaque green table cut glass beads with iridescent metallic glass rondelles and one of Gaea's new Flower focal beads. The clasp is actually a piece of stretchy cord strung through a slider bead.

Another stretchy bracelet, this one I used the bone amber rectangles and the round cut horn beads on black stretch cord. Simple but looks great layered with any of the other bracelets.

Another stretchy bracelet, this one with the large green ceramic rounds, but to embellish it I wrapped some gorgeous hand dyed Rayon gimp cord.

Here is a few shots of them all together.

Love how they looked all stacked on my arm! They are really fun and there are so many possibilities if you didn't want to wear them ALL together, you could pair any of them and they would look fabulous!

  17. Wow! You were really productive! All the bracelets are awesome. I love how you limited your color palettes in the individual bracelets and can then mix and match depending on your mood or the occasion. All together, they have such a nice texture and are really eye-catching. Good job! And thank you so much for hosting this challenge! Everyone really enjoyed playing along.

  18. Oh, I love the look of a stack of bracelets too, but I never can seem to pull it off on myself. I think you've inspired me to try, try again!
Your stack is fab, but I definitely have my favorites: that first one with the bone totally catches my attention and the one with the Gaea pendant is one that's totally in my usual style. I love the . . .soothing-ness of the palette on that one.
I appreciate you sharing both your inspiration as well as the results. Thanks! :)
