Shower Line-Up: I love Origins

I have recently discovered the likes of Origins.  (no I am not being compensated to write this post- I just want to pass on the good word)

I have seen Origins counters in the mall, and have quickly walked on by, my first thought always being- it's probably too expensive.  And since we don't have an Origins counter locally in my town, I have never really had the opportunity to shop there.

Here's how it all went down. I was flipping through InStyle magazine a few weeks ago. And something about the ad for Origins GinZing eye cream shouted out to me. Isn't it funny how a magazine ad can really speak to someone? I suppose it was the promise to help my puffy eyes with an energy boost like a shot of espresso! Or the gorgeous photo of coffee beans. Whatever it was, got me to pick up my phone and place an order.

I mean, seriously it was that easy.

When I got the package in the mail, the eye cream was in there, a tiny little tub which is fine, a little goes a LONG way! But also in the package was a freebie- a 5oz bottle of Plantscription, anti-aging face cleanser.

WOW. That is one helluva freebie if you ask me!

So, the eye cream is fantastic. It has a nice cooling feeling when I apply it in the morning, and that seems to help with the puffiness quite a bit. The lotion looks white in the ad though, but it actually has a tinted pale pink/skin tone color to it. Strange.

The face wash- I LOVE! I use a small pea size  squirt of it in the shower, and it is smooth like butter- it suds up but in a very luxurious way - really nice and soft- very creamy. It rinses away perfectly and my face has that wonderful clean feeling afterwards.  After the shower my face feels a little dry but that's usually the case, especially in Winter.

Also in the box with the eye cream and cleanser I got a small sample packet with this Antioxidant Moisturizer with White Tea. Fell in love! Has kind of a  minty smell and the moisture lasted all day. Perfect for me!

And so, this generated a second order.  But remember that freebie cleanser? I was secretly hoping that maybe another freebie was coming in the next package.
(nope, ah well- must have been just a "first order" prize)

So I ordered the White Tea- but I didn't end up getting the moisturizer. I accidentally ordered the Age Defense Skin Guardian with White Tea which is more like a Serum and less like a moisturizer and I feel like its definitely great for those who have a lot of sun/wind damage but kind of a greasy serum for every day use.

I also got the GingerBurst Bodywash - a very creamy body wash with the most amazing Ginger/ Lemon/Lime and Bergamont scent. They claim on the package it's Savory and that is the perfect adjective for it. Very nice, suds up great, and rinses away nicely leaving a nice clean feeling.

I am a HUGE sucker for any kind of Mint Shampoo and so I thought I'd give this Clear Head shampoo a try- I love it. The bottle is a bit small though for the price, but the scent of it is amazing and is great for waking up in the morning.  I like it. I probably wouldn't re-order it again.

Hopefully I didn't bore you too much with this post. One thing you probably don't know about me is that I kind of love PRODUCTS. And sometimes I do like to splurge and spoil myself with something and well, this month, this is what it was.  I find that I am not spending as much money on clothes since I now work from home. Which really has been kind of a huge adjustment but that's a blog post for another day!

Tune in again soon  (later this morning) to find out about who won the book giveaway!

    1. oh I'm so glad! Thank you for commenting! I think if you want to feel pampered- this company is great place to start. And I like that they send you a free sample with every order. And since I've ordered, I get many emails with weekly specials, spend $30 and get two items free. That's where the savings comes in! Definitely worth checking out!

  4. My aunt used to be an exec with Origins so I got lots of freebies when I was a poor starving uni student. They have the BEST stuff. (If you're a makeup wearer, try some of their makeup. It is lush.) I still splash out for it sometimes.

  5. I used to use several Origins products. Not sure why I stopped. I guess because I just didn't happen to go to the mall with the Origins counter much any more. Thanks for reminding me about it.

  7. I've always been a big fan or Origins products and went through a phase when that's all I used. I still love their compact powder makeup as I have really sensitive skin and this works well for my face. All of their products smell YUMMY and work well, but after a while I just couldn't keep spending the massive amounts of money on their products. I didn't really have it. Now that you've mentioned them again and I'm getting a little older, I may just have to go back and check out what all they have again. I always LOVED the products I got there. Thanks for the reminder about all the amazing items from one of my favorite brands.
