Show Prepping

That's right! AGAIN! I am exhibiting tables of my jewelry at the Sharon Springs Garden Party this weekend!!  If it wasn't forecasting thunderstorming rain, I might be kind of excited!  I have only ever done the Fall Season Harvest Festival and that's always been a great show so I do have high hopes that this will be a largely attended show.  AND the Beekman Boys have all sorts of fun things planned, the grand opening of their new store,  the introduction of their new Goat's milk Ice Cream! I can't wait for that!

So this week I'm prepping, getting jewelry made. I'll have a whole lotta beaded jewelry available but probably no tin. Unless I can whip some up in the next few days.  Ya just never know. If you are in the area, it's definitely a sweet little town and worth a visit. Come on down and see me! I wish I could say where my booth will be, but they don't assign them til we arrive.

Have been getting some great suggestions on Facebook about what types of jewelry people seem to be buying lately, or wanting lately.  A friend, Jenny, suggested that I do some stuff that's every day wearable with less color. That has proven quite difficult as you can see in the pieces I've done so far. Color is half of what inspires me!!  No can do!!

  3. Love the tree! Good luck and hopefully it won't rain.
It sounds like a nice town you're going to, if I was
nearby I would definitely come by say hello and buy!
As far as colours go with your instincts, they have
never proven you wrong! I love jewellery for many outfits
    full of colour!

  4. I think your pieces with the chain and the little assemblage of pendants are lower key color-wise (while still having color!) and totally wearable with anything! And I think you rocked the subdued color idea with that last pair of earrings (love how you threaded the cording through there, I might have to try that myself!) I think it's best to do what flows from your heart and don't try to make yourself do something that doesn't feel right.

  6. Every last one of these pieces is gorgeous! I just love seeing each new piece you make (and buying some when I get the chance!) It's better than going to an art gallery to me.

Good morning Lorelei! I can't agree more with the designing with color comment! I too have to have color in my pieces! It just brings them to life! I love all of your pieces. Love the Jade Scott pendants! Diana Kolowski

  10. Jenny has a good point but I think your pieces already have all the "everyday wearability" they need. As for color, your use of color and it's subtleties really makes your pieces shine. Stick to your muse and you can't go wrong. Good luck at the show, hope the weather is kind.

  11. I love the earrings. I believe they are Marsha Neal Ceramics which I adore. You have done some creative work with them. I also love the map inside the key. Well done!

  12. Beautiful. Good luck with the fair! I think that's why most craft fairs over in the UK are indoors......!! I've got an outdoor one in August for - slightly scared here - three weeks, but they build semi-permanent wooden shacks/huts for that, so I think unless things got really bad, it should be ok. I expect there will be intermittent rain however! I hope the storms pass you by on the weekend.

I am totally with you on the colour aspect. The best I can do is give you a monochromatic palette. LOVE the key pendant. It's awesome in itself, but you've paired it so beautifully and unexpectedly with those other elements, it is a truly lovely piece. As are they all - let's be honest!!
