I'm Giddy!

I found one. I found an original Hamilton Mfg. Co. typesetters Cabinet from the 1920s. When I saw it, I thought I was going to pass out. I pulled out the top drawer and it slid out smoothly with no effort. I felt weak in the knees. The man selling it knew he had found his buyer. I could not walk away without this. We did end up walking away for about 10 minutes to talk it over. Luckily we had brought the check book and had some cash on hand. We went back to the seller and told him we'd take it. We had been at the antique fair for approximately 20 minutes.  We left immediately after loading it into the truck. I could not be more pleased with my find!

It really is  in pristine condition! The drawers are so clean, unlike my other drawer cabinet. The metal handles are stamped with Hamilton Mfg. Co. It is just so cool. It's definitely an investment. It's also like twice as big as my other one.

Here it is in it's place. I started filling it yesterday, got the first four drawers done. Ceramics. and Polymer.  Next up Glass.

I love the small and large sections inside the drawers. The large sections accommodate pendants perfectly.

Drawer one - filling up fast.

I did find one other little treat while there at the fair. In a sea of jewelry and other small tchotchke's, I found this sweet little Italian pill box with an amazing glass mosaic on the lid. I immediate saw PENDANT and am looking forward to changing this into a gorgeous piece of jewelry!

Umm, so the bottom line is, I blew my bead shopping money for Bead Fest this weekend. In about an hour I'll be hitting the road for the trip to Philly.

Yea, I'd say the cabinet was worth every dime. And if I can't bring home tons of beads to fill it, at least I'll have been able to see all my great beady friends!! I can't wait!! It's going to be a fun time.

Remember, if you're in the area, stop by the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, Erin and I will be doing a book signing on Saturday from 1-2pm at the Primitive Earth Beads booth #528-532.

Cleaning out my etsy shop. Maybe for good, maybe not for good. We'll see! I may have to keep it awhile longer. I have some other big news I can't share quite yet. No, not pregnant. But definitely other life-changing news I can't wait to share. Gotta wait a few months. Sorry for the teaser!!

  17. That is gorgeous! I love my Hamilton, and that fact that it was manufactured right here in my state! Those drawers are so sweet. I had mine custom cleaned and painted a nice bright white to let the beads stand out. I still have at least 4 drawers that have never been filled! You have inspired me to do a little rearranging in mine. Enjoy it! You are right, it is worth every cent! Enjoy the day at Bead Fest! Erin
