Textured Discs and a small Frog

You know me, I'm always on the look-out for something new and different in the bead community! I stumbled on these very unique textured discs, in Heather's shop HMB Studios.  Have seen many a lampwork disc in my day but nothing with this cool bumpy texture on the flat surfaces.  It adds a whole new dimension to a finished piece! I made this necklace last night using one of the techniques I cover in the Bohemian Inspired Jewelry book. Autumnal Arrangement, where I used waxed linen cording to string the discs, so that they lay flat. Instead of using ceramic discs between the lampwork, I used some lampwork discs from Gardanne Beads, with larger Trixies from MyElements. Hidden amongst the glass, is a tiny pewter frog bead from Green Girl Studios.

  2. I love her beads but haven't bought any for a long time (that darn bead diet). These textured beads are fabulous! Your necklace is gorgeous!
