Oops, Skipped Thursday too!

My Goodness. This week is just getting away from me altogether. And can you believe I have not made one thing all week long?  Guess I just need a break maybe or have been too tired this week from the busy-ness of work. I have nothing to show you this Friday. But I'll come up with some random shit you might like.

First, last night I got my hair cut. My hair grows very very fast. And can go from cute, to grey and god-awful in just a short time period.  For over 10 years, I have been searching for a hair stylist that I like. I have tried many a salon in this area and just never seem that happy. I'm looking for a place that is comfortable, and friendly. I want my stylist to look at me and say- yep. I know JUST what to do. Everyone I've gone to has need some ideas, pictures, instructions.

So last night, I went to a new place for the first time. Gina was recommended to me from a friend's sister.  I never saw her hair cut but my friend told me it was fantastic and that she really liked this stylist a lot. So I went. And I have to say, Gina and hit it off right away. She's funny. I was in stitches most of the 3 hour color and cut. She's sarcastic, which I really love because I'm sarcastic too.  And she said- I know you don't know me, but please trust me to do what I want. And I thought, is this a dream come true!?  At first I didn't know if I liked it. In fact when I walked out of there last night, I was scared to see what people would say. I mean, she didn't really cut the length that much but razored the heck out of it, and it really needed it. I have enough hair for 3 women  on my head.  This morning I will be anxious to see if I can pull off the styling. I need to get some "wax" at Ulta, and some color safe shampoo. Anyway... here is a pic from this morning!

Took it on the mac, so it's not great. But you can get the idea of the cut.  Swoopy bangs, chin length, and a real nice graduated slope in the back. The weight of the hair is on top of my head. I'm hoping to go curly or straight with this style. I mean, I think this is the first time I've actually had a hair style.
First time for everything I suppose!

Looking forward to the weekend to play with a few things.  I am borrowing a Crafted Findings Riveting tool from Fusion Beads.  I want to try it out with the tin and see how it works. Before I buy one. They were nice enough to let me use theirs for a bit to try it out. I will blog about my findings in a few days.

I also got some beads in the mail yesterday. Some gorgeous new beads from Nancy of Round Rabbit Extra.

Drool-worthy eh?  Stinking awesome they are, they are.

I caught a glimpse of a pretty awesome rainbow on Tuesday night. Forgot to upload it from my phone. Here it is...

And I took a picture of my new Black irises that just bloomed this week....

Yesterday I worked a long time on putting together the blogging eCourse. It's long. with lots and lots of pictures. And now I worry that the damned thing won't be able to be downloaded. I will be able to finish putting it all together today and then I am going to cross my fingers. Hoping that maybe the IT guy can help me. If I have to do it all over again, I will seriously cry my eyes out. I hate doing things twice. So keep your fingers crossed.

Tonight I am going to sit down at 7pm and have a long talk with an astrologist.  Erin Siegel bought me an astrology reading for my birthday! I am excited to see what she has to say. I will let you know how it goes.

And one more thing you might not know about me.  If you like country music, you'll know the band Gloriana.  You probably don't know that I live next door the guys' Aunt! Cool right? They are getting really popular these days!  I'm not really into country but they have this great vibe and cool Rock Country sound.

Happy Friday ya'all!

  3. Super cute cut!! Looks good on you! You'll like the riveting tool, it's easy & fun to use! I should've bought the long-reach version (wasn't thinking), but so far, the regular one has been perfect for me. I bought the eyelet tool as well & really like the way it finishes off the punched holes (it's just tiny so you have to use small jumprings or thin gauge wire). Love your stash of Round Rabbit beads & the black irises are beautiful!

  4. Your haircut looks really cute on you! I like it. Its okay not post every day, I try for at least 3 times a week, but sometimes its more and sometimes its less. Oh, yes those beads are amazing!!! Can't wait to see what you do with them!

  6. I love your new cut--it's sweet and sassy, just like you! I've had the same hair style since my youngest was born 15 years ago. Well it's not really a style--the guy just cuts in layers. I'm wantint something different, but don't really know what I want. Finding a new style is as frightening as finding just the right swim suit to me.

Love the bead goodies you receive in the mail and can't wait to see what fabulous pieces you make with them. I'm also anxious to hear the reviews on that rivet tool. I want one so badly but was afraid to fork over the money on something I'm not familiar with.

    Have a great holiday weekend!

  11. Your new haircut looks great! The shorter length will allow you to showcase your gorgeous earrings! Looking forward to seeing your results with the riveting tool. That tool caught my eye as well, so I am anxious to hear how it handles. Have a great weekend!

  13. Love the hair and this photo of you. So cute. Yay! I'm so glad to hear you are getting your reading tonight! I had such an amazing experience with mine and I wanted that for you, too. If I could buy everyone a reading from Susan Custer, I would! It may take some time to absorb and think about all the information she gives you, but you will benefit tremendously from it. I hope you enjoyed your experience with her as much as I did.

  15. I'm with everyone else on loving the haircut. I've been going to the same stylist for about 15 years. I'd love to try someone else but I'm afraid to hurt her feelings!
