Pantone Color Mixes from FusionBeads.com

If you are ever stumped for inspiration, an easy source is the Pantone Color trends. Fusionbeads.com has made it so easy for us all! They have created Pantone Spring 2012 Color mixes for Swarovski Crystals. Check out the Crystal mixes here. As part of their new blogging program, Fusionbeads sent me the Shimmer Mix, in 4 different Bicon sizes. Since I don't typically work with crystals, this was a bit of a challenge for me, but last night I sat down and assembled some pretty and shimmerFUL jewelry designs that I think showcase my style and the color palette given to me.

First up, a simple pair of kidney style earrings with wire wrapped bicones that sandwich lampwork glass beads from LauraLou64 on Etsy. These Spotted Earth beads pair perfectly with the Chrysolite Opal, Cyclamen Opal, Greige, Rose Water Opal and Sand Opal tones in the crystal mix. I added 4 coordinating bicones onto the ear wires themselves for extra oomph. Yes, OOMPH is an official jewelry term.

The brass findings are from Vintaj Brass Co. You can also find these at FusionBeads.com!

I wanted to use the remaining lampwork glass from the set, so I created a bracelet design with them. Large 15mm split jump rings in between simple wire linked lampwork/crystal beads, and a second strand was added with these filigree tube beads, and the 3mm bicones. I used a copper flower toggle from DaisyChainExtra to finish the bracelet off.

The last piece I created is a necklace- I pulled out some new silk Griffin cording in gray, and hand-knotted the bicones in varying sizes and colors with a few filigree tubes mixed in.
I picked a focal from Lilly Pilly designs (also available at Fusionbeads) - an etched medium sized pendant with a tree. Playing off that tree, I finished the piece off with one of DaisyChainExtra's leaf hook clasps.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my Shimmer Crystal designs!

  1. Beautiful! Love these large "kidney" wires with the beads strung onto them, brings back "70's" memories. I just sold a pair of 40 yr. old earrings with seed beads and dangles very similar to these. How history repeats itself!

  3. Those are great lampwork beads. Love the idea of the bicones on the ear wires. Never tried that before, but it dresses them up nicely. I will be posting about my FusionBeads creations sometime this week. I think your pieces are a beautiful reminder the spring is on the way.
    Enjoy the day!

  6. All three pieces are beautiful, what a gorgeous set! My favorite is the bracelet. I really love the juxtaposition of the rings and the tubes. You really did the crystals justice in your own style!
