Happy Sunday!

A busy day today- we went to a graduation brunch for my neighbor's daughter across the street. My Mom stopped in for a bit today - was great to sit and visit even for a short while....
I made cherry cobbler and it didn't cook all the way through so I have it back in the oven now. Hoping this will work. Otherwise it was pretty good. we had a sampling.

Then I sat down and priced all my jewelry for friday night. I guess there isn't a shortage for necklaces!! My goodness! I am definitely short on earrings- bracelets are good. I think I counted about 35.
I'm still struggling with figuring out how to display things. I usually use that big lead glass window ( on top of the buffet here in this pic) but am not sure if I want to lug it to the museum on friday.
I went to Michael's today and they have those black velvet busts but they are $15 a  piece. I'm just not sure I want to use them when all my other props are rustic and wood related. So. the search continues.
I'm also thinking about possibly printing up a few Anthropologie design boards to display on my table.

Gotta go check on the cobbler. Have a good night tonight!

  1. Wow, would ya look at all the lovely pieces!!! I really dislike all the stuff to be done for a show--the photography, pricing, making tags, packing up, figuring out the display. I'm really struggling with my displays and need a change. I'm thinking of doing a travel theme next month, with vintage suitcases, an old globe from a schoolroom, and some vintage postcards and maps.

Best of luck at the museum Friday! That cobbler sounds yummy!

  4. I think you should definitely do some of your design boards. You do a great job with those:) Who knows maybe it will spur peoples' imaginations for what they can wear with your jewelry with.

  5. love your design boards, that would be an interesting addition..
i've never really warmed up to those black display things. like the idea of some sort of shutters for the necklaces also HL had faux fence boards with a piece of wallpaper partially decoupaged on it that looked cool and could easily be made with hooks attached.

  6. What about window frames with screening?? Or vintage-type picture frames with linen fabric or pet mesh? something 'rustic' to display with is bound to come your way! Good Luck! Just got my first trunk show for the month of August, so this is all new to me...

  9. Looks like you are well on your way to ready for your Friday show. I've always liked the photos you show of your pieces on that window. But I can certainly understand why you wouldn't want to haul it to the museum. I really like the idea of the design boards. I always like them when you put them together for your blog. Good luck with putting the rest of the pieces together and good luck with your show.

  10. I sometimes use a cork board on an easel if space is tight. You can buy facny big pins.

  11. You have some beautiful pieces, Lorelei. BTW, I have a pretty and inexpensive display idea to share. Get some foam by the yard at Joanne's, place it on top of canvas board, cover with some pretty fabric (I used textured velvet on sale)& secure the back w/duck tape...voila!! works like a charm! I used this when taking my jewelry to stores-worked much better than just pulling a piece out of a bag-it really shows nicely.

  12. When you're done with all that, can you come over and help me open the store. Thanks!

  13. Two suggestions if you're going with the rustic theme - take a walk in the woods - you may find something that will be easily cleaned and useful. Also - scrapbook paper works great for accenting the table - and come in all different themes - I bet you could find a woodland/rustic one very easily.
Good luck with your show, Lorelei!

  14. I love the design board idea. I saw the ones you posted here..kinda makes you want the whole ensemble. You should get royalties or something from Anthro for spiffy-ing {may or may not be a word} up their outfits with your talent. ;) The wood pieces are beautiful and seem to compliment your work!

  15. Nile Corp has some nice linen busts that I don't think art too costly for future shows and would nicely feature your work.
