Policy Changes

I want to announce some changes to my shop policies that will be happening in the next few days.
I have been thinking about this for a long time, and unfortunately it's been weighing heavily on my mind.
I didn't really think I would get to a point where I would have to do this, but I need to a. be fair, and b. make customers happy. Sometimes this can be a hard combination.
I'll just get right to it.

*I will be happy to do custom requests- but I will not be replicating jewelry. I would like to get away from doing this, as I believe that customers appreciate the fact that they are getting a one of a kind piece of jewelry when they purchase from my store. This is not to say that I will never create repeat designs for my shop. This may happen from time to time. I tend to do this when my imagination is struggling.

I know that sometimes a customer can be frustrated when they miss out on a particular design that has been listed and sold. I would recommend you subscribe to the RSS feed for my etsy shop to keep up with new listings. OR, feel free to follow me on facebook as I do list everything there first before I list things on etsy. ( will be changing things up and posting new items on my Designs By Lorelei Jewelry page instead of my personal page.)

* If you ask me for a custom order, current coupons that are active at that time will not apply to your custom work. I am taking the extra time to create a piece for you, and I feel that I have quoted you a fair price for this item. Using a coupon on top of the quoted price will not be permitted from now on.

* Reserving items- I will be willing to reserve items for 48 hours.  When those 48 hours are up, I will relist the item in my shop as unreserved. This is tough for me, because I definitely do not want to upset a buyer. I understand that the economy is tough and people have to wait for paychecks and things like that. That is why I will continue to reserve items but for a shorter period of time.

* I am no longer taking personal checks for payment. I am sorry for the inconvenience as I know some of you do like to use checks but this is really too risky for me as a seller. I have been quite lucky so far, but don't want to risk getting that one customer who decides to send a bad check. I am playing around with the idea of also not accepting money orders for these same reasons. I know I have a few customers who often pay with money orders but I do think that paypal is the most convenient way for me to receive payments.

Thank you for understanding and reading through these new policies. Please feel free to contact me via email if you have questions or issues.
