Earthenwood Design Team- Fly Away

Here is the newest installment from my contributions to the Earthenwood Design Team. Melanie gave me my Fly Away pendant when I saw her at Bead & Button. I got to pick the color, and I went with this neutral khaki feather pebble that is inscribed Fly Away on the back side.

Stacking Melanie's pendant with one of Diane Hawkey's branch beads, and a lampwork glass bird from Lori Lochner was a cool idea! Not terribly original as there are many who do the whole bird on a branch thing, so I wanted to make the necklace part more interesting to draw your eye up and around the piece.

I used some pretty faceted mother of pearl coins, copper seed beads, and some of the new Jean Christen ceramic beads I got while in Milwaukee.  On one side, I added a little leaf charm from Ezel Findings.
Faceted glass mottled in black and green adorns the back of the necklace. I finished the piece off with a substantial toggle from Melinda of OrrTec

Be sure to check out what the other Design team members are doing this month with their pendants.
