Sunday Funday

Can you feel the excitement? Something big is brewing in the L.E. studio.... Here's a bit of a sneak peek of the earrings for the Big Earring Swap of 2010 (happening TOMORROW!)

The earring swap isn't for earrings. I'm swapping earrings for BEADS. So tune in tomorrow, around 12:00est Noon. (there are 18 pairs here!)

I filled some bezels this weekend. I made a couple of earring pairs using the Patera bezels from BelloModo.com. They turned out pretty cute, just using some scrapbook paper I had on hand. BUT, (can you hear me cursing all the way up here in NY)  one of the floral bezels got a bubble. It's my own fault, since I didn't babysit them for an hour after they were done.  So now I'm not sure what to do. Create earring with them anyway, and hope the buyer doesn't mind? Or just use one, and ditch the bubbled one?

I also filled my recent Owl bracelet. One of it's bezels also got an "after-thought" bubble. Dang it!! But it's still super cute. I shall try to make a couple more of these owl bracelets this upcoming week. I think my cousin Carey wants this one. :)

See you tomorrow for the big swap!

  1. Why not glue a flat backed crystal over the top of that bubble, and one in a corresponding part on the other. That might salvage it. Or use them separately, one with the crystal, one without. These are darling! Especially the owl with the little egg in the middle! Enjoy the day! Erin

  2. I think they're very cute! I wouldn't mind the bubble but I wouldn't like to speak for anyone else, I think it kind of adds to it's charm.

  3. I don't mind the bubble either - I think it's fabulous, I say list it as is!

  4. I think the imperfection shows that it was made by your little hands and not a big clunky machine :) They're all seriously cute!

  5. i hate bubbles!! what i usually do for a surface bubble is drill it out with my handy dandy dremel- being careful not to injure the image. and the i fill it with more resin:)works really well.

  6. Sorry about the bubble but I think using them seperately is a good idea.

I do want the owl bracelet. How did you know besides the drooling, begging, crying I have done since I laid eyes on it.

  8. Lorelei, just heat the top of the bezel with a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the area. Sometimes the bubble will pop or you can move it out of the way. You may have to top it off with more resin.
Also depending on how long they have been curing the heat will crackle the top layer of resin which looks cool and gives it a "aged" look. Just repeat with the other matching bezel.
    Good Luck!

  9. Hey, you got some good suggestions on fixes for bubbles. I may have to try some, too.
