Turns out I'm a morning person

P1012951

I am going to share a bit of Too Much Information here for a second. After my morning coffee and web surfing, I skipped the shower and went to the studio. This necklace happened before it was even light out this morning. I find I am most motivated in the early morning hours. But come 3pm, forget it. I can barely get through the afternoon. Actually, this necklace started out as a bracelet and then I grabbed that pretty ceramic pendant from Every Heart Crafts and it transformed into a necklace. Very asymmetrical with very complimentary colors of orange and green.

What I love most about it is the butterflies. Remember I told you in my Pork Chop Show post over at ABS that I bought some of these cool wood butterflies? I brought them into work one day and drilled my own holes into the upper wing corners of each one. I have been itching to put them into something and I am quite happy that this worked out the way I had it in my head.

In other news I found out who my partner is in Lori Anderson's Bead Swap party! Maria Grimes of Garden Path Beads! I sent out my bead package to her this morning. I can't wait to see what she sends me! Be sure to keep up on the bead swap, we'll all be showing off our jewelry made with the beads we get, on February 10th!

Oh, that is pretty! I love those butterflies, and they look great with the orange, green, and red beads.

Oh so beautiful. THIS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED TO A PUBLICATION OR PUT INTO A BOOK!!!!!!!! I'm thinking of reserving it, but I can't decide if I have the funds. Oh dear.

Wow I just went to The Pork chop show and he has shut down his shop!
This is unfortunate timing, especially since he was likely to be getting some attention from your blog and the ABS. I really liked his butterflies and the antique style keys.

YES the more I see it the more I want it. Please reserve this piece for me. Thanks, Melanie.

That necklace is AMAZING. That definitely needs to be published in a mag!

Ever since I saw your post on ABS - I have NEEDED me some of those butterflies. Sadly, the Pork Chop Show guy has closed his Etsy store :-(

So sad.

Need butterflies.

Need them NOW!

Truly lovely Lorelei! I am a night owl by nature so doing something before I have had coffee and a shower really makes me cringe! Those butterflies are awesome. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the day! Erin

What a lovely butterfly necklace. The butterfy looks so real. The bead swap sounds like fun. I am sure that you are going to love the beads that Maria sends you. She is one fantastic bead maker. I have several of her creations.

This necklace is really COOL! It's sooo pretty! The butterflies make it so special. I love that you added my piece! The fern really does go nice with the butterflies and adds to the whole feeling of the necklace! :) I wish you could submit it but I guess you sold it already! That is AWESOME!

You are an inspiration to me! Keep up the great work. I saw your video on Enchanted Adornments, and had to go out and buy me a copy!

This is oh so pretty!! I'm not into complementary contrast usually, but this one is nice and subdued. And then those butterflies and the leaf pendant seem to bring up so many happy childhood memories... sad it's already reserved, and I can't even get my hand on some of those butterflies :(
Do you have any left for a bracelet?

This piece reminds me of one of my favorite childrens stories, The Velveteen Rabbit. It's the part where they describe the boy and the bunny sitting among the braken (ferns) while the little butterflies fluttered about. And yes I do still cry when the bunny becomes real. I'm such a sap. So that's why I reserved it.

What a beautiful necklace! The color balance is wonderful, and I just love those butterflies you got...even moreso now that you've put them to such good use.
