Time for a light tent

Seriously.
i'm sick of taking pics in the morning and having them not turn out right. too blurry, and not enough natural light.
Will have to retake my photos at lunch.
i want a light tent like Genevieve's at Jibby and Juna.

  1. The crapiest light in the universe couldn't make your pieces look bad! These are so wonderful and earthy. I love the birdy bracelet most best:)

Your pictures are pretty good I think. I tend to take mine at night...not a good thing either, but I like these and the peices are really nice!

  3. Yeah, I take most of mine in a light tent. Pittsburgh weather is too hazy most of the time and too unpredictable. I love natural lighting but for us Northerners it's kind of a must.

  5. thank you all so much!
I think i am going to put the earrings in my shop this morning. those pics came out the best out of all of them.

  6. I made a light box out of a white styrophome (sp?) cooler. Cut a hole in the top and stick a daylight buld through it. it turned out great and cheap! However, i have noticed some pieces still aren't turning out the brightest when i use props so i've off to find desk lights this weekend.
Your pics always look great to me though but you will love the lighbox too; you can take your pictures ANYTIME!!! good luck!

  7. I love them all!! Those little heart earrings are calling to me though, they are so sweet, but earthy at the same time :)

And your pictures are great, you don't need to retake them.

  8. These photos look just great to me. I always have to adjust the lighting in Photoshop and sometimes the color too - but then again I always have to wait until the morning light coming thru the back door and no clouds. I have thought of a light box but never invested the $$.

  9. You'll love having a light box! Of course, if you live in a neighborhood like mine, you might miss all the stares from the neighbors as you arrange your jewelry for photos outside. :)

  10. I always assumed you had some professional photo setup! Your photos are flawless. You must fix your lighting problems in a photo editor b/c I've never seen any color irregularities in your photos. Natural light is really problematic in the winter though, I think b/c of the oblique angle--it's very blue green. I've had good luck with full spectrum daylight bulbs from the grocery store in the winter (although I always have to do a little correcting!)

  11. I got my light tent at harbor freight. They are about $30 there. I use 2 halogen lights on the sides to illuminate the work

  12. I know...I think that will help make the difference with my pictures, too..Thomas has a small one somewhere...but, I will likely make do until we finish the (umpteenth) office makeover...I've decided I need more workspace, so the daybed is moving to another room and I am going to get a table...So, somewhere along the way, the mini light tent will find a home...
