Beads!

kelley has been nagging me to show pictures
of my beads in the drawers of my printers
cabinet. I finally got around to it.
It's a lot of beads.
I still have 7 more empty drawers to fill.
BEAD FEST HERE I COME!

Comments

  1. Woo-hoo! Bead Fest! I still have room in my office for a few more beads :o)

I love the shots of your bead storage...And, being the seed bead junkie, I found myself chuckling at how different your stash is than mine - I have 2 whole units (a large one and a medium one) of many various types of seed beads (and a couple of drawers in a third unit)...

I think it would be neat to have a designated day to have people do something like this - "show us your stash" day - just as yet another illustration of how so many different people can come up with so many different ideas - and so much of that starts with your stash and what you like (and have) to work with.

I hope to see you this weekend! :o)

  5. Great cabinet, seeing everything works for me too. I use a cart I purchased at Joann's it is meant for scrap booking, it has narrow drawers with compartments like yours. At the bottom it has deeper drawers that I use for tools, projects, etc. They all pull out so they can be moved to where I am working. When I am as tidy as you are I will blog about it.
Have fun at Bead Fest, maybe I will make it next year.

  8. Thank you for posting pictures - They are AWESOME!!!
I love that you have an old printing press - California Job Case - drawers to use for your beads. I think these are already probably hard enough to get your hands on in this day of digital printing...

My mom used to have some of these up on our wall in our family room with little knick-knacks on display in them...

Wonderful!!! Thanks for posting some pictures (and I'd be happy to help you fill up a Marsha Neal Studio section after this next weekend at Bead Fest!)

Why are beads so addictive?! It's fun just looking at them. Those sectioned drawers are the best.
Saw this and thought of u, at fusionbeads.com under beading techniques, they show u how to embellish felt beads. Could be fun for u and your Tangbaby's. Mel

I love your organization. My beads are scattered all over the studio -- which is bad because I wind up buying more when I just know that I have some already!!! My problem is that with my polymer clay addiction, now I'm beginning to have overflowing bead issues, too. One solution to that has been recently listing some focal beads and bead sets on JustBeads.com Hopefully that will help me clear some space to refill (grin)!

  17. You have a great bead collection! I have been thinking of ways to store my beads and I decided to go with Craft Masters Ezy Lockin' Caddy http://www.craftmates.com/canvas.html. Does anyone have any bead storage sugesstions or ideas they think I should try I would love your input?
    Thanks!

  18. What an awesome bead collection AND storage solution you have. I love how everything is so organized and visible. I would LOVE to have something like that. My beads are organized, but not nearly as visible or accessible and that makes designing more difficult!

  21. what's fun is that when i enlarge the picture, i recognize the work of a lot of the artists you have turned me on to - erin (above), jubilee, artisanclay, roundrabbit, chinook, etc - most of whom i've now bought things from (or plan to!) thanks!
