Blog Tutorial #1: Chinook Daisy Bracelet

I asked blog readers in a poll which piece they'd like to see me do a an online tutorial for, and the Chinook Daisy bracelet was the winning piece. I hope that the instructions are clear. And yes, I'll be listing the finished product at my etsy shop, if you don't want to create it yourself!

Materials:
1 Ceramic daisy Connector (Chinook Jewelry)
10 triangular wood nuggets (6x12mm)
13 Size 8 Gunmetal seed beads (charlene's Beads)
2 silver crimp tubes
1 Czech flower bead
1 gunmetal head pin
2 jump rings
1 handmade steel wire clasp
9 inches of .18 beading wire
Tools:
Chain Nose pliers
Round Nose Pliers
Wire cutters
Flat Nose pliers
Crimping pliers

1. I typically lay out all of my supplies before I do any stringing. (the only thing that didn't end up in this photo was the 2 jump rings I used on each end of the wire)

2. Using the beading wire, string 1 silver crimp tube. And thread one side of the ceramic daisy connector. Pass the end of the wire back through the crimp tube.

4. Crimp tightly with crimping pliers.

5. String 1 seed bead, 1 wood nugget, 1 seed bead, 1 wood nugget, repeat 6 more times. String 1 lampwork glass accent bead, 1 seed bead, 1 wood nugget, 1 seed bead, 1 wood nugget, 2 seed beads.
6. It's wise to lay out your bracelet next to a ruler, so that you size it correctly.
7. String 1 silver crimp tube. Attach one of the jump rings to the swirly clasp. String that jump ring onto the wire. Pass the wire back through the crimp tube.
8. Crimp tightly with crimping pliers.
9. Attach the second jump ring to the ceramic leaf charm.

10. Attach that jump ring to the side of the daisy connector, where the wire is attached. Close the jump right tightly.

11. Thread a Czech glass flower bead on a 2 inch gunmetal head pin. Form a loop with round nose pliers. Thread the loop on the wire on the connector, by the leaf charm. Form a wrapped loop and trim any excess wire.

Voila!

The clasp hooks into the wire loop on the daisy connector.

  8. Thanks for the informative tutorial. A lot of thought goes into each piece you make, that obvious.
My sock knitting tutorial might be a bit longer, but there are still steps to be done as in jewelry making.
