Bringing out the DARK SIDE of me

This necklace was a little bit of a struggle due to the colors of the linky from Earthenwood. I wasn't sure what color to mix with the black and white. When I asked my husband he immediately said Red. I wasn't into bright red, so I went with a nice dark ominous garnet red instead! I like the overall DARK feeling of this piece. I used gunmetal chain from Fusion Beads, and a silver tone chain from Michael's. I received the Earthenwood links and the little Raven from Humblebeads yesterday! I was so excited to use them. I had an idea in mind as soon as I saw the raven. Thanks Heather! Thanks Melanie!
I've been working on getting my blog updated. As you can see, I'm not the tech-iest of crafters. I did finally figure out how to resize an image for my banner. This new one you see was done completely on my own. I am quite proud that I figured this out. However, if you know how to stretch them image (without distorting the picture) on the sides to totally fill in that box, let me know.
Tune in on Friday to find out about a new GIVEAWAY!

  1. Great necklace! I love how you used Melanie's steampunk pieces. Did you special order the raven? I don't see black birds on Heather's site.
Sorry I can't help you with your banner, but it looks really good!

I love the necklace you created, Lorelei, it's just fabulous! The asymmetrical design with the little bird, mix of chains, seed beads & lock w/key are just perfect!

I went though the same thing on my page with the banner (you did a great job by the way). I used my image program to widen the banner size and then just kept loading it until it fit as best as it could. You might just want to fill the color in on the sides, I wouldn't change anything else because I love how your business name fits over the image. Good luck!
